Passing Through the Present — Arriving at the Future

eggsinn means "new life and inclusiveness." As a fashion trend brand collective store born in Chengdu, it embraces diverse cultures and carries the culture and values behind different brands. The design team hopes to express the spiritual core of eggsinn to the world through a unique store image.

Traveling across mountains, seas, and lakes, sailing through a free new world — "passing through" is the logic of the entire space. We imagine ourselves as a shuttle in a loom, a ship traveling through time, and light piercing through a canyon. At the same time, life is also spent in one carefully selected "passing through" after another. Integrating this with the brand philosophy of eggsinn, we interpret and describe it.

We hope to place a gentle yet resolute space here — one that passes through, sails, explores, and adventures amid the rapidly changing waves of fashion.

We thoroughly analyzed the project and reasonably divided it into three independent yet interconnected zones: "Cabin Display Area, Upstream Garment Hanging Area, and Matrix Storage Area," maximizing the fulfillment of the client's needs.

Cabin Departure — Scene Display

As the starting point of the adventure, the inverted large ship is the visual focal point of the entire space, creating a "superscale" visual impact. This applies both indoors and outdoors. The minimalist facade uses long glass windows to blur the boundary between interior and exterior, guiding people outside to focus their attention on the tension of this ship.

We display footwear in this area. At the same time, the different arrangements and combinations of the footwear display cases on the floor make the spatial connections both related and independent. By using diverse and staggered material forms and layered product installations, we reinforce the randomness of the spatial circulation while also enclosing an open space for pop-ups, leaving room for the possibility of creating more adventurous and exploratory fun experiences. In this way, the ship will carry companions gently yet resolutely toward different waves.

Upstream Link — Adaptive Garment Hanging

For the clothing display area, our concept was to create a fun experience of traveling through a winding grand canyon, guiding people into exploration. We therefore thought of using continuous, hazy, enveloping partition forms to enclose the space, complemented by irregular continuous material boundaries on the floor and mirror reflections on the ceiling.

To avoid making the space feel oppressive and to allow sunlight from outside the windows to pass through the partitions and spill into the interior, the material needs to be translucent and easy to replace. Standing within it, one can closely feel the art of spatial tailoring overlapping with the gradual tailoring of the garments, with light and shadow interweaving — sometimes narrow, sometimes open.

Matrix Sequence — Layered Storage

Because this involves the storage of multiple brands and categories, compared with a closed storage format, we preferred to open up this area and display products while storing them. Therefore, how to integrate goods of different brands and categories into one display while maintaining spatial order and cleanliness, as well as convenience for staff to access, was the focus of our thinking.

By arranging the storage cabinets in a lateral matrix, the goods are clear at a glance and orderly arranged, and multiple staff members can simultaneously retrieve and store items. The mirrors on the sides of the cabinets further extend the spatial form. At the same time, the storage cabinet array itself forms a kind of ordered beauty, standing with strength like a stone circle.

The ceiling uses mirror-finish stainless steel. Everything on the floor is like a world mirrored on a lake surface, extending the visual height of the space to the greatest extent while also weakening spatial boundaries. Between blurred virtuality and reality, the large ship slowly sails within it. Apart from the mirror material, the space uses large areas of solid low-saturation colors to create a sense of inclusiveness, presenting natural textures in the details. The overall lighting design of the space is also extremely gentle. Design, like life, requires exploration and breaking through waves. We hope our design can gradually inspire customers' imagination and encourage them to muster the courage to explore different fashions.

Implementation Process

The curved fabric screen is the most experimental creation in the entire scheme. In terms of fabric selection, high extensibility, light transmission, and surface gloss are three factors that are difficult to achieve in the same fabric. We made balanced choices and only arrived at the final form of this design after multiple rounds of actual prototyping and testing.
